PTA And PTO Website Design Made Easy

Parents who volunteer for activities run by the parent teacher association for our children’s school often say these events are not run in the most efficient manner. Since these activities are run mostly by volunteers, they may not have the time to fully devote to the event.

Well, we can’t change the amount of time we have in a day, but we can certainly go about managing it in a more effective way. We need to make the most of the skills we have and the tools that are available to us. The key tool these days is your PTA or PTO website.

Does your PTA or PTO have a website coordinator? It is a must in today’s world, where keeping your families informed of all issues relating to their children is a necessity. All parents want instant access to the issues that affect their children each and every day. And the first place they will look is online. Is your website coordinator prepared?

* Do you find yourself clicking too much to find what you are looking for?

* Does the website often show events that have passed?

* Does it work in your browser?

* Do you think things may not work in other browsers?

* How well is the webmaster able to bring the latest technology and the needs of your families together?

* Is everyone’s job being made easier?

One last point that is very important to note. Your parent teacher group will exist for many years to come. Your job as website coordinator will not last forever. Many more volunteers will follow your path, so you want to make sure you design a PTA or PTO website that will work for your group over the long haul. It should also be easily adaptable by the person who follows you in your role. Finally, It should also retain a consistency to it, as we all know how humans tend to struggle with change.
