Symptoms Of An Anxiety Attack

by Paul Green

When you remember the last time you needed to give a presentation or speak in front if a group, you probably get a little nervous, just with the thought of it. It’s easy to recall the feeling: the feeling that you wanted to run away, that you had forgotten everything you wanted to say, the sick feeling in your stomach, the weakening of the knees, the sudden perspiration. Those are all anxiety attack symptoms that occur for many people.

Anxiety attacks are something everyone has gone through on some level. A person’s fear of speaking in public may develop to include fears of making phone calls, speaking at conferences, and interacting with colleagues, as other manifestations of anxiety attack symptoms. The increase in number and intensity of anxiety attack symptoms can cause serious work-related problems for a person.

If someone experiences anxiety problems related to their career, it’s possible that those will begin on the way to work. This may cause the person to try and avoid any driving, as well as experiencing anxiety attack symptoms in situations when they are asked casually about work, which could cause a withdrawal from any social interaction.

All of us have suffered from anxiety attack symptoms of varying degrees. Quite a few people only experience anxiety attack symptoms in certain types of situations. Often it is something that is disliked or feared for some reason, like making a speech, dealing with insects or having to deal with heights. For most people, a specific stimulus or situation triggers anxiety attacks.

Of course, some anxiety attacks are worse than others. Along with the normal feelings of anxiety attack symptoms, crying or shaking and other external signs can be noticed. Simply seeing an image of the anxiety trigger, such as an insect on television, or in books or magazines, or even hearing someone talk about insects can cause anxiety attack symptoms in some people.

Patients who go through an intense, heightened level of anxiety report that the number and types of things that can set off anxiety attack symptoms seem to spiral out of control. One thing sets off another, like a chain reaction of anxiety.

One thing often leads to another, and as we all know, when it rains, it pours. Anxiety triggers can often cause a snowball effect, leading to more serious problems with anxiety. A doctor or a therapist can help you deal with your anxiety attack symptoms. These are quite common and you don’t have to be scared that your anxiety order is not curable.
