To Reduce Blood Glucose Take These 2 Minerals

By lowering the quantity of xanthurenic acid in the blood, magnesium reduces blood glucose. And magnesium is vital to maintain enzymes possessing the vitamin B-6.

The level of magnesium in the blood is usually decreased in persons with diabetes so it might be logically assumed that diabetes is caused by a dual deficiency of magnesium and vitamin B6. It would be a wise decision for anybody desiring to reduce blood glucose to consume at least 500 mg of a magnesium supplement and 10 mg of vitamin B6 every day.

Magnesium is present in many foods. It is a part of the chlorophyll in green vegetation. Some other excellent sources of this mineral are soya beans, alfalfa, whole grains, almonds, peaches, apples, figs, lemons, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds.

Many scientists think that the higher incidence of type 2 diabetes is partly caused by a lack of chromium in the diet. Chromium has proved helpful in the control of diabetes symptoms and in the lowering of blood sugar.

Scientists at Columbia University have found that chromium makes the body produce insulin more efficiently. Other tests have also verified that chromium helps decrease blood sugar levels and helps to increase energy levels. Also, it has been shown in various studies to increase body muscle mass in people who lift weights regularly. More muscle mass in the body is beneficial for increased health benefits due to increasing metabolism and helping to keep blood glucose in check.

The recommended daily allowance of chromium is 50 to 100 micrograms. Some foods rich in chromium: broccoli, kidney beans, soya beans, whole grain cereals, nuts, mushrooms, rhubarb, pomegranate, pineapple, bengal gram, black gram, betel leaves, bottle gourd, corn oil and brewer’s yeast.
