Whether Or Not To Get A Wedding Planner?
Many brides struggle with determining whether or not to get a wedding planner. Because every situation is unique and because many people do not know just what it is a wedding planner does, it proves to be beneficial to learn what a wedding planner can do for you before you make a decision.
When deciding whether or not you want to use a wedding planner’s services, you first must ask yourself if you have the time to plan a wedding. Often times, work, pets or children cam make planning a wedding incredibly difficult. A wedding planner, as a professional of the industry should be very familiar with the different vendors. They can help you with food, decorations, flowers, photography and more. In many cases the wedding venue will have an in-house wedding planner. These planners should be available as much as you would like to use them.
A benefit of having an on-site wedding planner is that they are familiar with the venue. They know what vendor will be best suited for the venue and they will be able to make sure the location details are attended to, e.g. dance floor, catering, bar, seating arrangements and more.
You may also want to ask how long the wedding planner has been in business. Do they have previous clients you can speak to? Ask them how their experience was. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Wedding planners should also have books of photography of their past weddings. Make sure you personal style meshes with the wedding planner. If you have traditional tastes, then a contemporary planner may not work.
Be sure your personalities mesh. Does the wedding planner understand your needs and do they have the same vision of your wedding that you do? This cannot be stressed enough. With all the pressures of organizing a wedding, be sure the person you are working closest with helps calm you and doesn’t add to your aggravation.
The wedding planner you pick should have quality relationships with vendors. Additionally they should be able to work out deals with these vendors. Deals you are not able to get without their inside connection. The vendors they work with should be able to assist you in getting unique floral arrangements, decorations and more.
Wedding planners can be used as extensively as you like, or as little as you like. A wedding planner can start with you on day one and bring you a variety of invitations, samples of cakes, dresses, and decorations. They can literally plan your wedding to the last detail, including paying vendors for you, making sure they show up and clean up, or you can use them for suggestions and have them be your liaison just on the wedding day.
Wedding planners are there to help you and if you use them for the entire wedding planning process, they should be someone you like and want to spend time with. Choose your wedding planner carefully to make sure you are treated like a queen. Wedding planners are trained in working with others, networking and negotiating, so if it’s in your budget, it’s worth it.
